What do You Want to do Before You Die?
So recently I have gotten hooked on this little MTV show called "The Buried Life." Okay, let's be honest, I'm kind of obsessed. This show films four adventurous, fun-loving, not to mention extremely adorable young guys who slowly but surely cross off different items on their bucket list. For every item they check off their own list, they help a stranger complete something they want to do before they die. Duncan, Jonnie, Ben, and Dave definitely epitomize the saying "live life to the fullest." In a recent episode, the sweet and romantic Duncan Penn gets up the nerve to ask out the girl of his dreams, Taylor Swift, and she accepts! SO cute. This show has inspired me to create my own bucket list and to live every day like it's the last. Check out "The Buried Life" Mondays on MTV at 10:30/9:30 central!

Are You a Gleek?

What started out as a humble television show about a high school glee club has rapidly evolved into one of the biggest crazes of television culture. Thanks to this new hit television show, these young, amateur, yet super talented actors/singers/dancers (including Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron, Matthew Morrison, and more) have entered the crazy world of super stardom. The second season of Glee airs this Tuesday (September 21,2010) at 8/7c on Fox. This season, many big stars such as Britney Spears, Carol Burnett, John Stamos, Charice, and Cheyenne Jackson are scheduled to make guest appearances. Make sure to tune in on Tuesday to see what juicy drama plays out in season 2!

iheartit

So recently, I have been spending way too much time on this cool little website known as "weheartit.com." This site allows users to create a login account and "heart" images that they find unique, inspiring, intense, scenic or even humorous from other websites. Whenever I visit this site, I can't help but continue to look at page after page after page until I realize about an hour or two later that I have been spending way too much time on this one website. This site features all types of cool images from fashion and celebrites to photography and inspirational quotes. In fact, about 90% of the image posts on Gumbo Ya-Ya come from "weheartit.com."

Tourquoise Jewelry: My New Obsession
So lately, I have had an obsession with turquoise- turqouise necklaces, turquoise rings, turquoise bracelets... anything and everything turquoise! This bright summer color pairs perfectly with almost any color but goes especially well with black, magenta, coral, pale pink, and white. LOVE.

M I L E Y:
the girl you love to hate?
or hate to love?
From grinding on baby Justin Bieber in her "trailer trash" get-up to dirty dancing with 46 year old producer Adam Shankman... In my opinion, she's taking this whole "growing up" thing a bit too far... although, most of my "dislike" for her most likely roots from the green monster: j e a l o u s y. I mean who wouldn't want to be practically a billionaire at the mere age of 17? just sayin. I think maybe her gorgeous boyfriend (and co-star in The Last Song), crazy success, excessive wardrobe, dream job, and extravagant hollywood lifestyle might also have something to do with my jealousy.
Although her fun-loving and super outgoing personality sometimes translates into being obnoxious and over the top, I, for one, am also guilty of being a Miley fan at one point in time. I kind of love her and hate her at the same time (if that's even possible). I mean, come on, you can't help but to sing along to her upbeat songs like "7 Things" and "Party in the USA,"and every now and then I catch myself watching and laughing out loud at an old re-run of "Hannah Montana."
Oh! and after seeing The Last Song for the fourth time in theaters, I couldn't help but fall in love with her character and the whole romance between Ronnie and Will. So CUTE.
Still, with this in mind, lately it seems as if she is trying to pull a "Britney" when clearly she's still a young Disney teen. Her outrageous and slutty new outfits and her racy new songs just don't seem like a clear progression as an artist who, just yesterday, sang innocent songs like "Best of Both Worlds," "The Climb," and "Party in the USA." In my opinion, you can't really go from singing clean cut Disney songs to "Can't Be Tamed" overnight. Lately it seems as if all the fame and money at such a young age is just getting to her head.
